Such an exposure will be good for kids. They will tell stories with completeness i.e, with a beginning, middle and end which make the kids to laugh, cry and feel fear or sadness.

2.    Choosing story by themselves: Expose kids to greater number of short books and magazine short stories, and let them choose to tell the one they love the most. If you are going to have children memorise the text, you look for stories that don’t rely on illustrations to fill in the gaps.

3.    Have fun with stories that are string-a-long: Practicing story telling in any form is helpful and more fun activity when telling a string-a-long story, which can be done with any number of people. This helps to understand various parts of the stories and make use of the imagination and think about what might come next.

4.    Be very expressive: Make the students feel that they must involve their entire body in storytelling. As good storyteller uses body language, expression in their voices, varying volume and eye contact with the listeners. Teachers play an important role in generating a comfortable ambience wherein the kids could express themselves freely with their peers.

5.    Wordless Books: What is most intimidating is a blank piece of paper without any pictures. While pictures plays an important role which is worth more than simple written books. The value of a wordless pictures book is that it provides a setting, characters and some visual cues that inspire their imagination.

6.    Keep focus on practice: Children will become more comfortable with storytelling by practicing in front of mirror or videotaping themselves while telling the stories. Also practicing in front of fellow kids is also helpful particularly if the audience are coached to give constructive feedbacks. This helps in memorizing an easy task for the kids. In all these effort what is important is to have fun doing this task.

7.    Take classes: Check your locale to find acting, writing or illustration classes are available.
